Most Patuá Dance performances are non-static and completely self-sufficient requiring no technical support; we can perform virtually anywhere!

Street Dance-Theatre

Patuá Dance blends different styles from Latin and European cultures such as: Afro-Brazilian dance and music traditions, Commedia dell‘Arte and Carnival to create bizarre and funny street shows. Perfectly costumed, colourful characters with slightly eccentric behaviour compose the performances. They pop up in the most unexpected places and play with the audience, making people laugh with their bizarre appearance and increasingly Latin behaviour. The style of performance is lively and fun and guaranteed to excite the interest of the public from babies to grand parents.

Carnival

Patuá Dance performs with live musicians and dancers in colourful costumes and props creating a Brazilian carnival atmosphere. Patuá Dance’s fun and comic characters will liven up any outdoor event and carnival parade. Patuá Dance has vast experience in creating carnivals with a wide variety of communities including people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Also the company has experience in making carnivals with adults and children with special needs and learning difficulties.
